Letter To A Friend
Dear Harry,
Today I want to tell you about a CLIP college hour that I attended today morning. There were three professors. One of them David Rothman, who was from Academic Litaracy Department discussed about basic skills classes. According to his lecture, basic skills classes prepare students for reading and writing classes. We have to pay $100 for each basic skills classes. Each will take one semester. After him, a professor from Speech Department named Sherry Gillman Rada talked about 005, 005, 007 and elective classes. Then, Mark Schiebe stated his opinion about English 101 class. We need to take English 102 after 101. We have to take three basic skills classes. Some matter I think it can be important for you are:
* CUNY START is more similar to CLIP.
* You can't go back to CLIP if you fail the ACT exam.
* English 101 is four credit class.
* English 102 is about literature.
* In credit class your grade is mostly depends on your idea or understandings. You don't have to be too much worried about grammar.
* 005 focus on sound of American English.
* 007 is only for Nursing.
* Elective means you choose your classes.
* 12 credit or more makes you full time students.
* You need total 60 credit to graduate.
*Passing score for ACT is 70.

CLIP College Hour
Today I listened a lecture on Clip college hour given by Madhumita. She talked about a program called CUNY Start. According to her CUNY Start is a program that provides instruction in academic reading, writing and math for college bound students who have not passed the CUNY placement exams. It costs only $75 to enter this program including books. It also allows students to save financial aid for credit courses and offers academic advisement. I think this would be a good program for me because it costs low amount and provides full time and part time classes. I can also save my financial aids for credit classes. For more information about this program, students can go to their office which is situated in Y-12 and they can also visit www.qcc.cuny.edu/cunystart.
CLIP College Hour
Today I listened another lecture on CLIP college hour given by Najwa who talked about ASAP. It means QueensBorough Acceierated Study assists students in learning associate degrees within three years by providing a range of financial, academic and financial supports. Although this program provides a lot of benefits for students, I don't think this would be a good program for me because it accepts all major except Pre-Clinical Nursing, Nursing and Early Childhood Education Program. I am interested in Nursing and so, I cant get help from this program. For more information, students can go to W-100 or visit their website.
