Childhood Obesity
What is it called when a
child is well above the normal weight for his/her age or height? It is
identified as childhood obesity. In recent years, childhood obesity has become
a burning question for the United States. Eliana Dockterman states that,
‘’Obesity may shorten life expectancy by up to 8 years’’. Childhood obesity is
a serious medical condition that makes child’s life troublesome. It occurs when
excessive body fat negatively affects a child’s health and contributes to
particular types of disease and other problems. For example obese children
cannot participate in many types of games and many more social activities. Some
people may think that childhood obesity is not such an important thing to be concerned
about. The reason why people have to think strongly about this problem is that for
children who are obese, it is easy to get obese as an adult which will create
problems in their future life. Being overweight leads to cardiovascular disease
such as high blood pressure and high cholesterol. If people want to keep their
children safe from those diseases in future, they need to find out the solution
for this problem. Some researchers believe that obesity is the second leading preventable
cause of death after smoking. According to the article, it is hopeful that
treating or preventing weight gain successfully in childhood will help to
reduce the risk of adult obesity, heart diseases, diabetes, joint problems,
sleep apnea and social problems. From the discussion above it is clear that
prevention of childhood obesity is a complex issue. In the next part of the
essay, some solutions to this problem will be discussed in detail.
Since obesity is a common problem in children’s life, the Puerto Rican Government has proposed a law for childhood obesity. First of all, some obese children will be identified by a teacher and they will be sent to a counselor. After that, the counselor will help the children to keep diet and do exercise. Then children will be checked after every four weeks to see if they have progress or not. Finally, after six months, if the children don’t progress, their parents can be fined. The fine could be increased gradually. In this case, parents might be concerned about their fines and the rate of obesity might be decreased.
Another solution for this problem could be changing the eating habits of obese children. By the statement of ‘’Centers for Disease Control and Prevention,’’ parents need to provide healthy food like vegetables, fruits instead of fast foods at home. In addition, parents have to build up the habit of drinking more water than soda. Furthermore, schools should expand programs that brings fruits and vegetables in schools and should arrange salad bars for students. Schools must provide healthy breakfast and lunch. Teachers should start a program to raise awareness between the students.
Yet another solution for childhood obesity is improving the role modeling of parents. Parents have the right to raise their children and make decision for them and they have the responsibility to protect their children from harm. Parent’s behavior plays an important role to children's lives. First of all, parents should buy healthy foods and fruit juices instead of soda and should give them limited fast food no more than once a week. Parents have to be concerned about what their children are eating in school. Moreover, they should encourage their children to go outside together for regular physical activities. Furthermore, parents should not allow snacks while playing games in computer or watching TV.
Though there is currently a wide variety of activity to reduce the epidemic of childhood obesity, I think parents can play the most important role in preventing childhood obesity. It is obvious for parents to care about children and take necessary steps personally to prevent obesity. According to Tomas Power, the chair of the Department of Human Development at Washington State University, ‘‘parents directly influence their child’s eating habits’’. Poor eating and exercise patterns are often established during childhood. Fortunately, a healthy home environment can promote healthy habits. Parents have a profound influence by promoting certain values and attitudes and by rewarding specific behaviors. Parents need to provide plenty of vegetables, fruits and whole grain products and low fat or nonfat milk. They should always concern about protein and nutrition and make the habit to drink lot of water instead of soda. Parents should make children's favorite dishes healthier instead of forcing them to eat less. Parents should help their children to understand the benefits of being physically strong and make time to go outside together for physical activities at least one hour per day. Parents can start doing physical activities in their daily routine and it might encourage their children. They can join their parents. Children should not be allowed to eat snacks while playing games in computer or watching TV. Parents can encourage their children to go outside to play. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, parents can visit childcare centers to see if they provide any healthy foods and drinks for children and limit TV and video time and make sure child’s get physical activity each day.
In conclusion, it can be said that there is no single or simple solution for childhood obesity. The health of a human being mostly depends on the childhood raising. If we uproot the problem, we can be relaxed about our children. If people work together to prevent childhood obesity, it might even be better than working individually. Government, families and schools should work together to get rid of this problem. Schools in the United States can raise awareness among children. It is hard to solve this problem but not impossible.

Happiness
What
does ''Happiness'' mean to your life? I think ''Happiness'' is when you realize
that you have nothing to desire in life, because you have achieved all your
desires already. In other words, when you appreciate your present life
and enjoy your life without any obstacles. According to scientific studies, happiness comes from dopamine,
chemicals around the brain, and a transmitter in the brain that controls
the nervous system. Happiness
plays an important role in the lives of people all around the world. Some
people think that technology can make them happy; some people think money is
everything, and love is the most important thing to be happy for some.
Happiness is different from person to person. We should all care about it because most people want to succeed in life. The happiest people are the most productive. Crabtree says that "Happier people are more successful, more creative, energetic; resilient". In the film ''Happy'' it explores human happiness by interviewing people from all walks of life through fourteen countries. It starts a journey from the swamps of Louisiana to the slum of Kolkata to search for what things really make people happy. The film ''Happy'' cites research that claims happiness depends on 50 % activity that is connected with genes, 10 % activity that is out of our control, and 40% under control activity. According to the claim, we can control 40% activity for happiness in our life. The next part of this essay will discuss the claim and some important reason behind happiness.
There are many sources for happiness. The claim about happiness is connected with Susan Spencher Wendel, the author of ''Until I Say Goodbye". Susan struggles a lot to be happy in life. In her life, an example of genetic activity for happiness is ALS, and the circumstances in her life are adoption, living with her biological mother and intentional activities are her job, travel, married life and making decision to meet her biological mother. In the book '' Until I Say Goodbye'' the author is attacked by ALS (a progressive nerve system disorder). Most people die within three years of being diagnosed with ALS. The author knows she is going to die soon but she wants to dedicate a year of joy to her loved ones. She is not worried about what will happen tomorrow, but she believes in happiness. She starts to loss muscles control, she doesn't stop enjoying life. The author wants to plant memories what will help her loved ones to remember her when she passes away. She travels with her three children, husband, sister and best friend and tries to make joyful memories. I think Susan will agree with the claim. Susan lives life positively in spite of having such a progressive disease. This claim is about happiness and the book "Until I Say Goodbye" also inspires us to find out a way for being happy even in difficult situations. Susan wrote, "Don't cry because it is over. Smile because it happened.'' From this quotation it can be said, in difficult situations we can be optimistic also because we have a chance to experience the situation. Susan wants to keep smiling face and she can handle the situation by thinking optimistically. I think few people can think positively in difficulties. However, Susan is an inspiration for us.
Being happy is a key factor for us as humans. As a human being, I agree with the claim. My genetic aspect of happiness is that I look like my parents. Some of my relatives say that. My circumstances are growing up a middle class family, moving to New York, having parents who love me, and being born as a Muslim. I have grown up in a middle class family and I could not change my family position as a child. My parents are Muslim and so, they treat me Muslim culture from the time of infancy. Another thing is that my parents love me a lot. As parents they could have put me for adoption, but they didn't. If they had left me somewhere else instead of bringing me up, I couldn't do anything. Furthermore, at the age of 17 I moved to NY with my family and parents made the decision for me. All of these examples are circumstances because they happened and I can't change it. Some examples of intentional activities from my life are study, relationship, behavior and career. We see different personality in each person. I have the right to make choice of my career. I can make decisions about my studies and relationships. These things depend on my opinion. If I want, I can change these things.
Human beings need a lot of things to be happy in life from the day he/she is born. When we accomplish all of our needs, we consider ourselves happy. As we grow up, our demands increase and it gradually becomes harder to be happy. For this reason, it is difficult to say exactly what will be the key to happiness in my life after in one, five, ten or twenty years. Now I am trying to finish my studies and so, my first desire will be being a good student in class. First of all, after one year absolutely I want to attend credit classes in college and I think this is the first step for me to reach my dream. My dream is graduation from Medical field. Secondly, after five years, if I graduate, I want to get a favorable job. I think it will make me happy that time. My parents pay for my studies and so they want me to graduate and live with them. For this reason, I want to live with them for the rest of my life. Even though, I am living with my parents now, I have the same desire even after twenty years. Last of all, good relationships with family and money may make me happy after 20 years. I will try my best for graduation because I think I can't prosper in life without studying. If I want to get a superior job, I need to study and graduate. When I was in 7-8 years old, a pencil would make me happy, but at the age of 20 a pencil would not make me happy. To be happy is increasingly difficult for me as I get older.
Finally, it can be said that, happiness is difficult to define because it is different for each person. Happiness is not free; we have to struggle a lot to be happy in life. We need to work hard to earn happiness and keep it in our life. Happiness is very close to success. A successful person is always happy. So we need to be successful in our daily life otherwise we cannot be happy in life. Happiness is an adventure which is hard to overcome. If we want to achieve it, we need to give up our fears. We need to be determined and accept all our difficult activities as a challenge. According to Henry David Thoreau: “Happiness is like a butterfly: the more you chase it, the more it will elude you, if you turn your attention to other things, it will come and sit softly on your shoulder.” It means if we waste too much time obsessing over happiness, we will not get it. But it will come easily when we draw attention to other things.

Birth Order Theory
I will focus on the importance of birth order for happiness. In my opinion, birth order theory effects on our happiness partially. According to the article “Born for each Other”, middle child is happily married with another middle child. But this idea is completely different from my experience. I have an uncle who is a middle child who got married another middle child a few years ago. About one or two years later, they started fighting. First of all, my uncle doesn’t want to take any responsibility for his family and children. Secondly, he quarrels with my aunt for nothing and beats her sometimes. Thirdly, he doesn’t want to go to work and he likes to waste time leisurely. Then, he blames others for his fault and screams for a little thing. If my aunt wants to discuss something with him, he yells at her. He always misbehaves with my aunt and cousin. He is a very irresponsible husband and his relationship is not so close with his children. When my uncle wants to do something, he doesn’t care about my aunt’s decision. For example, if he wants to buy a car, he makes the decision by himself. My aunt doesn’t even know that my uncle is going to buy a car. They have conflicting experience in their married life. So birth order theory might not predict match in everyone’s life.

Midterm Reflection Essay
In the first half of this semester, we read reading book, writing book, grammar book and Until I Say Goodbye. We wrote two long essays and some pieces of writing. Our first essay was about childhood obesity and another essay was about happiness. We wrote two academic paragraphs about birth order theory and love. We took three tests so far. We focused on grammar and vocabulary mostly in this semester. We worked on grammar almost and we have done exercise related to grammar. The grammar section helped us to improve our writing skills. We attended twenty seven common read events and some CLIP college hours. In the final day of Common Read event, we heard some wonderful poems. Some students attended poem contrast and achieved some gifts. From the CLIP college hours, we knew about financial aid, health services, tuition fees, scholarship etc. In this reflection essay, I will describe what I have accomplished so far for this semester, and what I would like to improve in the second half of the semester.
In this semester our class participated in the QCC Campus Common Read. Common Read event is a program that provides a common intellectual experience to provoke all new first year students. The purpose of common read is to enhance knowledge and cultivate a sense of community. Student who participate common read, can share their opinion with peer and they can get involved in campus activities. In this year the theme of the common read event was "A Life Well Lived". For common read we read a book named "Until I Say Goodbye". In this book the author, Susan Spencer-Wendel was diagnosed by ALS that gradually destroys the muscles control and she knew that most people die within three years of being diagnosed with ALS. In this difficult situation, she thought positively and she wanted to dedicate a year of joy to her loved persons and so, she made seven trips with seven most important people in her life. She had to quit her journalism job which she admired. She took her son to swim with dolphins and went to Kleinfeld,s Bridal shop in New York City to see her teenage daughter Marina with wedding dress for first and last time. She also explored her biological father and mother to be sure about her disease if it is hereditary. As her health declined, she wrote this book letter by letter on her iPhone by using her only thumb, the last finger still working. We attended some events such as Empathy goes on Trial, Project ALS, The Pride of the Yankees, Palliative care vs. Hospice care, Nursing Presentation and Genes and Diseases - How Do Genes Affect My Health. In "Project ALS'' we learned about ALS which is progressive nerve system disorder and it is also called Lou Gehrig disease. It destroys the nerve responsible for muscle movement. It leads paralyze of muscle movement, muscle weakness arm and legs. There is no prevention, guideline because the reason is unknown but various drugs and devices are available to help control symptom make living with the disease easier.
In addition to participating in the Common Read we did some geographic research online about happiness. We searched for the happiest state and the least happy state in America. We labeled the states mentioned in the book Until I Say Goodbye for example we labeled Susan's birth place, the place she traveled, and the places her parents lived. We also labeled some geographical features such as the Atlantic Ocean, the Pacific Ocean, the Gulf of Mexico, the Mississippi River, the Rocky Mountains, the Great Lakes and some places we are interested in. We chose two chapters from the book Until I Say Goodbye and summarized those chapters and presented them to classmates. We did some research about ALS, Aspergers and West Palm Beach. We used flashcards to improve our vocabulary. At the end of each Common Read event we discussed about it in group and shared our ideas about this. We learned a lot about grammar and vocabulary and we practiced our grammar and vocabulary regularly. I think I improved my vocabulary and also grammar. I have learned many new vocabularies that are beneficial for academic writing. I need to develop my reading skill. Though I developed my reading skill, I have to improve it more to pass ACT.
The second half of this semester, I want to carry on my improvement. I want to participate more in group work and discuss my opinions with my classmates. If I need any help I will ask my classmates and teacher to help me. I need to improve my speaking. So, I want to practice my speaking in class more. i want to learn more new vocabulary for academic writing and reading. I will focus on how to understand the main idea from a passage. I want to concentrate my study more than before. I would like to spend more time for study at home. I will try to speak in English at home. I want to learn at least five new vocabulary everyday outside of class. I will finish this semester even stronger than I started by following the instructions teacher gives me. Besides, I will try to finish my projects on time and try to be regular in class. If teacher tells me that I am ready to take the ACT exam, I will take the test after this semester. If I will not skilled enough to take the ACT test, I will take the summer semester in CLIP. I am planning to take a trip after this semester in my home country. I don't want to keep myself away from study and this is my goal. If I want to keep pace with the modern world, I need to be established. So, I want to study to get a favorable job.
Academic Paragraph: Love
Love is an intense feeling of affection. You can have the feelings as a parents, child, husband, wife or others. It is also defined as a deep emotional feeling. If you care about someone, it is sure that you love him or her. Love is an essential part in our lives. Without love, we can not live a happy life because love is connected with happiness. When we born, we need someones love to grow up properly. Lake of love may cause serious problems. For example if you love someone but he doesn't love you, it may cause serious mental and physical problems. In other words, love is a attraction of sexual desire. It is the strong affection felt by people who have a romantic relationship.
Breaking Of Friendship
What are the reasons behind broken friendships? If we ask for the answers, people may have different responses. For example, some people may think loyalty is important, and some people may emphasize thoughts. Furthermore, a similar economic position is important for friendship. When we see dissimilarities between two people, they will not become friends generally. If we find someone with the same interests, we become friends with him frequently. As we can't not live alone, we make friends to avoid lonesomeness. If friendship breaks, it will not return to the same place as before. There are some reasons behind broken friendships. The three reasons I think are most important for friendships are disloyalty, selfishness, and lack of communication.
One reason for broken friendships is disloyalty. If you find your friend disloyal, it obviously hurts your feelings and ruins friendships. Every friend has the right to share each others secrets. When you tell a very secret matter to your friends, he promises not to tell anyone else. If someone tells you about the matter that you have just shared with your friends, it is undoubtedly true that your friend has spoiled your trust. One of my uncles broke his friend's trust and their friendship broke apart. My uncle and his friend lived together in the same house. One day my uncle decided to start a business and his friend wanted to be his partner. The friend invested a huge amount of money for the business. When my uncle profited from the business, he kicked his friend out from home. My uncle cheated and so, his friend went bankrupt. Their friendship broke down forever because of my uncle’s dishonesty.
Another important reason for broken friendship is selfishness. In many difficult situations of our lives, we call friends for help. We may face some personal problems sometimes which are not appropriate to discuss with parents or relatives. At that time we go to friends and seek their help. Real friends help us to uproot the obstacles and encourage us to prosper in life. They help us to make decisions and solve problems. On the other hand, when friends act oppositely friendships break. If a friend uses you when he needs something from you and doesn't help you when you need him, it means he is a fair weather friend. My father had a fair weather friend a few years ago. My father and his friend were colleagues. Both of them used to teach in a high school. One day he came to our house suddenly and cried out loudly that his mother’s condition is very serious. He needed some money for her treatment. At that time, my father gave him the money and went with him to help him. A few months later when my mother was sick, my father called him for help. But he showed some lame excuse that he was very busy. For this reason their friendship broke down and my father never talked to him.
Yet another reason for broken friendship is a busy schedule and lack of communication. When we are busy with job, study or other obligations, it is very hard to spend time with friends. Eventually, in these situations, friendships break apart. We may have new friends at school or work and we may not have enough time for old friends. When we are busy, we can't make phone calls or email to friends. For this reason, friendships ultimately fade. From my personal experience, when I was in my country, I had some friends who had great importance in my life. They were a huge part of my life that time. They used to come to my house and we shared our opinions with each other. Eventually, I moved to New York. When I first moved here, I would talk to them, but we stopped communicating gradually because of my busy schedule. Now, I rarely talk to them. In the long run, our friendship broke apart due to lack of communication.
Though friendship is a precious feature of our lives, the effect of broken friendships is sometimes very detrimental. Sometimes it hurts people so seriously that the person might go through depression and be mentally shocked. In contrast, a broken friendship is good for us sometimes because we can get the chance to choose a better friend in the future. We have different kinds of friends but unfortunately none of them lasts forever. However, friends are parts of our lives and so we can't refuse their contribution. Since we need friends in our life, we have to be careful to make friends. Otherwise, a serious problem may happen to us.
CAT-W ESSAY
Aerobic activity has appositive influence on our lives. According to Charles Hillman, “just 20 minutes of walking helps students to raise their scores even if obese and unfit children.” A remarkable Swedish study found that in more than a million 18 year old boys who joined the army, better fitness was connected with higher I.Q., even among twins. Even though there is no specific evidence to prove that, exercise is crucial for higher I.Q, the researchers think that aerobic exercise contributes specific growth factor and proteins, stated Georg Kuhn. Now it is clear that 20 minutes of unpublished study and 20 minutes of playing has the same impact on students. Though I agree with Charles Hillman that “just 20 minutes of walking before tests raised children’s score”, I think reviewing before test is more important.
Nowadays, we can see many students playing more than studying. I think if students do not concentrate on studying, they will not be able to get good scores. Charles Hillman asserts that 20 minutes of walking before test improves test scores. If walking could do much better than studying, we would not need to study long time. We might just walk before taking any test instead of studying hard. Walking can affect your score, if you walk and review before the test. Walking before test is not so useful as preparing for test. Children need aerobic activity to keep fit but it doesn’t contribute to their score. If children review book before test, they can achieve a good score. My cousin didn’t stop exercise but he changed the time order only. He does exercise for limited time only.
One of my cousins is very meritorious. He always achieves the best score in class. A few years ago, he was very unconscious about study. He would like to play with friends and waste his time. At the time of test he would not study. He was involved in aerobic activity more than study. It didn’t help him to earn good score and he failed. After that event he changed himself and concentrated on studying. He started to improve score. At the time of test he always reviews his books instead of playing or walking. For this reason, he is doing much better than before.
Though exercise is important, it is not the best way to raise your score. We need to stay physically fit and we need to study to achieve good score. Studying before test is more effective than walking.
What is Quality of Life-CAT-W
People's lifestyle differs according to the country they live in. For example people from undeveloped countries do not get the same advantages as people from developed countries. Developed countries can provide more advantages for citizens. Materials are important for our life, and the spiritual side is also crucial to be happy.
According to the article '' What is Quality of Life'', People have different lifestyles by the amount of properties they own. However, spiritual side of life is also as important as materials side to develop the quality of life. On the spiritual side, quality of life means having enough time for friends and families and not thinking that you have to earn more money than you need. The author provides his personal experience that when he was in Mexico, he saw people communicating with others. Though the people of this town have material poverty, they were happy in their traditional life. The author also states that undeveloped countries may also have this advantages but higher standard countries provide new technologies to make peoples life easier. However, higher standard countries may also have negative results in stead of having adequate wealth. Though I agree with the authors point that a higher standard of living can have negative results like increased number of crime, I think undeveloped countries also have increased crime.
The people of undeveloped countries always faces money problems such as lack of health services, pollution and lack of education. The people of undeveloped countries are more prone to crime because they always fight to get their vital needs. Fighting in developed countries is common. Because of poverty the people of undeveloped countries do not get enough treatment for health problem. So they always blame developed countries. The think that developed countries can help if they want and they feel jealousy. Again when they starve for days, they commit to crime like murder, hijack. Sometimes the poor people fight with each other to garb foods. Corruption is the main problem for some undeveloped countries. People always fight for their life and some people kill others to be rich.
Bangladesh is a country, where people are mostly poor. The people of this country always fight with each other for their rights. There are two main political parties in Bangladesh. Both of them fight for the power. They don't think about the development of people. Though the government is democratic, people have no power. The situation of this country is getting down. The number of crime has increased in this country. It is true that when we face any danger, we ask police for help. Unfortunately, polices of Bangladesh are very rude. In stead of solving problems, they prefer to create problems. There is no law against political party. They can do anything the want even murder. For this reason, the people of Bangladesh commit crime consciously or unconsciously. As Bangladesh is an undeveloped country, the people should seek money but instead they are struggling to live. There is no safety for life and properties. The people are religious but the lack of properties force them to commit crime.
In this passage, the author asserts that a higher standard of living can have negative results such as increase crime. My personal experience is different from the author's opinion. Though Bangladesh is not a developed country, the number of crimes is increasing there. According to the author, the countries that lacks materials may also be happy in spiritual side of life and developed countries can also increase crime inspire of having enough materials. In my example I have shown some situation why undeveloped countries can also increase crime. from my personal experience, it it clear that crime can also be common factor for undeveloped countries.
In conclusion, it can be said that crime happens in both developed and undeveloped countries. Though lifestyle is different by the amount of materials, crime also differs from countries. To reduce crime, we need to improve our attitudes and provide help for poor people. Thus we can have a happy life.

We born in a family and we can have older and younger siblings. The children of a family are very different from each other and children's behavior differs according to their birth theory. I am the oldest child of my family. As a oldest child, I have to take more responsibilities than my younger sister. When my younger sister was born, I felt so happy. I have been taking care of her from her early age. I would feed her, dress her, teach her to use bathroom properly and help her to understand the difference between right and wrong. My parents always tell me to sacrifice for her. If my mom brings two dresses, she always choose the better one. Sometimes she lies about me to mom and mom rebukes me. Though I feel bad for this, I have to tolerate this kind of behavior because she is not old enough. As I am the oldest child, I want to take care of my parents in their old age. They deserve the support from me because I am more capable than my younger sister.

Behavior of Good employee
What makes a good worker? A boss or a manager of a company always wants to hire a person who has good qualities. Nowadays, it is not easy to find a job. Furthermore, hiring an appropriate employee is a great headache for a manager or boss. If a manager chooses a wrong person for a company, it might ruin the company. If I had a company, I would look for some basic character traits. I would naturally look for someone who could make my business run smoothly. Companies always demand valuable employees and always want to hire someone appropriate. Though there are many character traits to be a good employee, I think the three most important traits are good communication skills, responsibility and co-operation.
One important trait for a good employee is good communication skills. If an employee doesn't have good communication skills, frequently he might not be valued. Without good communication with co-workers and other people related to a company, improvement is not possible. Mistakes always happen due to miscommunication because people fail to pay attention to what they are told. People sometimes have problems with understanding language. An employee should listen carefully before acting and understand what to do to prevent mistakes or accidents. An employee must always respond to other people by showing respect. Some customers will determine how much business they bring in your place based on how well you communicate with them. Good communication is also essential for a business meeting or deal because, without communicating, employees can't understand the business deal. This will harm the company and one may lose his job in the long run. So all employees need good communication skills to become more affirmative.
Last week, I interviewed my dad. I asked him some questions about good worker traits. I started by asking him about the qualities that makes a good worker. According to him, honesty, co-operation, experience, responsibility, hard work and discipline are the main traits to become a good worker. Then I asked him more specific question about the most important quality of a good worker. He answered that he valued honesty most. After that I asked him why he thinks that honesty is most important. He shared his personal experience about honesty. Hi has been working in a store for 6 years and all of his co-workers and manager trust him due to his honesty. For this reason, he valued honesty the most.
Another essential trait for being a good employee is responsibility. Many people just work to get paid but they don't really care about company's profit. For improving value as an employee, one needs to take responsibilities and give attention to every single matter. A manager might not like it if an employee asks him for every single detail. Sometimes an employee should do something by his own efforts so that a manager can rely on him. Besides, if an employee does something wrong, he should take the responsibility instead of blaming someone else. A good employee must work with objectives in mind and contribute towards the objective. A good worker does not do work because he has to do it instead, he tries to perform outstandingly. If a worker has a very hard job, he could ask for help from co-workers. A manager doesn’t like that if a worker shows excuse for not doing the work. A manger always wants a worker who can handle all situations when manger is absent. Unfortunately, many workers lose their job because of irresponsibility. For this reason, a worker always needs to take responsibility to become more favorable to boss.
Yet, another crucial trait for being good worker is co-operation. According to Kahlil Gibran "The real test of good manners is to be able to put up with bad manners pleasantly." In other words, your good manners express when you cope with bad manners cheerfully. Having a great working relationship between colleagues and manager helps you to perform gladly. If your boss or co-workers criticize you in a way that hurts your feeling or makes you angry, you need to be calm and patient. However, you can talk to them later and discuss the situation. Thus you can have a good relationship with your boss and co-workers. Everyone appreciates helping hands so, you should not hesitate to help others. Moreover, co-operation makes a pleasant working environment due to positive attitude. It helps you to establish good relationship with co- workers. You should try to make your boss happy so that your boss apologize to you when you make any mistake. If your boss is satisfied to you, you might get a better place in the office. Thus, co-operation can enrich your position as a good worker.
In conclusion, being a good employee is not easy. However, an employee who demonstrates the above qualities will have positive results and more opportunities. A worker always wants to be great and be appreciated by his co-workers and boss and so, he has to achieve this appreciation by his work. A worker should work so neatly that his boss always remembers him. Even though he leaves his job, a good employee set his place for others to follow. An employee should try his best to prove himself as a good worker. Though achievement is elusive, everyone needs to try to get it. To become a good worker, more and more skills are needed but good communication skills, responsibility and co-operation can make even better worker.
